Almost everyone including the teenager enjoys a good firework display whether it is a private occasion in the family garden. or a public display.

The fizzles,  bangs and brightly colored patterned lights in the dark sky are very spectacular. Fireworks displays were usually associated with traditional events celebrating a specific historic event like the  4th July Independence Day in USA. and the 5th November celebrations (Guy Fawkes Night), in the UK, but now it is common to have a display at almost any social occasion, like children’s birthday parties for instance.

In spite if the enjoyment gained at firework displays, the fireworks themselves can be extremely dangerous and can cause severe injury unless handled carefully and safely.. Thousands of people are injured each year from fireworks including hand burns from the simple ‘sparklers ‘

-          Burns to hands and fingers.

-          Burns to head and face.

-          Loss of fingers due to explosive fireworks being mistreated.

So how does a person ensure safety with fireworks?  By far the safest way of viewing fireworks is at an organized display, in fact some locations ban the sale to the public any fireworks at all.

Safety Hints for Firework Watchers.

a). Always use brand name fireworks, do not try to make fireworks at home, if the viewers are youngsters, make sure it as adult who lights the touch paper.

b). Purchase only fireworks which are legal to use, and carry the label of operating and safety instructions, follow the instruction label closely.

c). Select fireworks which are suitable for the area, it is not sensible to use aerial fireworks in a busy location, it is better to use the fountain display types.

d). If a firework fails to work do not try to relight it, just hose it down with the safety hose or water bucket which should be at hand at all displays.

e). Only light one firework at a time, and ensure that it is well away from other unlit fireworks.

f). Unused fireworks should be stored in a safe, cool dry place, and all used fireworks should be soaked in a bucket of water before disposal.

If any person sustains an injury of any kind at a display, then immediate emergency assistance should be summonsed, especially if the injury is to the eye, any hot fragments in the eye if not treated could lead to permanent blindness.
